Bridget M. Baker is a graduate of Campbell University with a bachelor of science degree in Child Development. Her passions includes physical fitness, mental health awareness, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Married for over twenty years, Bridget has been a proud military spouse and now supports her husband in his civilian federal career. Parent of two and a recent “Bebe” to her grandson, she has embraced a life of flexibility and resilience.
In March 2020 as the world was bracing for a pandemic her father suddenly passed. This was an extremely isolating experience.
Within a month after her dad’s passing Bridget started weekly virtual therapy sessions. While not new to therapy, grieving during a global pandemic was uncharted territory. Maintaining and improving her mental health became the primary goal for Bridget. She continued her sessions and increased her knowledge of coping strategies. Finally starting to find her footing, Bridget faced another passing, her older sister passed of breast cancer in August of 2023, after enduring a seven year journey. Remembering some of her sister’s last words “She fought the best battle she could,”didn’t seem to ease the pain. Bridget determined to grieve in a healthier way, decided to trust in God and use the coping mechanisms she had learned to heal.
Living a military connected life, Bridget and her family recently relocated to Georgia. Bridget continues to advocate for children, prioritize her mental health and cherish life.
Psalm 34:18
